[1] KEY ELECTION DEADLINES
Early In-Person Voting:Per Wisconsin state law, municipal clerks must conclude in-person absentee voting no later than the Sunday prior to Election Day. This statutory window has officially closed.- Election Day (In-Person): Tuesday, August 11, 2026. Polls open 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM. Note: You must vote at your regular neighborhood polling place.
- Absentee Return Deadline: Must be received by your municipal clerk or placed in an official drop box by 8:00 PM on August 11, 2026.

- Option A: Vote on Election Day: Go to your assigned local polling place before 8:00 PM on August 11.
- Option B: Absentee Ballot Drop-Off: DO NOT MAIL YOUR BALLOT. It is too late for the mail. Hand-deliver it to your clerk's office or a secure ballot drop box by 8:00 PM on Election Day.
SAME-DAY REGISTRATION
Wisconsin allows you to register to vote at the polls on Election Day. You must bring a Proof of Residence document with your current name and address.
Acceptable documents include:
- Current utility bill, bank statement, or paycheck
- A residential lease effective on Election Day
- Wisconsin driver’s license or state ID card
- Government document or check
ATTN: WISCONSIN VOTER ID REQUIREMENTS
Wisconsin requires an acceptable photo ID to vote, whether voting in-person or absentee. The ID does not need to have your current address. Review the full list of acceptable IDs here.
Commonly used ID types include:
- Wisconsin DOT-issued driver’s license or state ID card
- U.S. passport (book or card)
- Military ID card or Veterans Affairs ID card
- Tribal ID card
- Student ID card with issuance, expiration date, and signature

Democracy is thirsty work. After you pedal to the drop box to secure your ballot, treat yourself to a local craft beer and a freshly grilled brat. You've earned it.
PROVISIONAL BALLOTS: KNOW YOUR RIGHTS
When to Request One: If you do not have an acceptable photo ID with you, you can still vote a Provisional Ballot.
Cure Period: You must provide a copy of your acceptable photo ID to your municipal clerk by 4:00 PM the Friday after the election for your ballot to be counted.
Why It Matters: In tight primary races, cured provisional ballots frequently decide the final winner.
